 This is two-part question.
1. Objective: To initiate research on a Spanish-speaking region and practice introductory speaking skills.
For this mini-task, you must first decide on a region from the list below:

Europa | España

El Caribe | Puerto Rico, República Dominicana y Cuba

Centro América | México, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua y Costa Rica

Gran Colombia | Panamá, Colombia, Venezuela y Ecuador

Zona Andina | Perú, Bolivia y Paraguay

Cono Sur | Uruguay, Argentina y Chile
Note: Once students have selected a region, they are required to maintain continuity with this selection throughout all subsequent mini-tasks and their final project. Changing the selected region after mini-task 1 is strictly prohibited. Any deviation from the initial selection will result in penalties during the final project phase.

Write a brief paragraph (100-125 words) explaining your choice of region and your initial impressions or interests about it. This encourages you to start thinking critically about your choice and its significance. Find a region that interests you and make sure to include why it interests you in this description.
2. Objective: To compare and contrast two different programs in your region.
For this mini-task, you must research two Study Abroad programs that the University of Memphis offers in your region. To gather information, visit the official UofM study abroad website: Study Abroad

Create a comparison chart or table and list the information for each program side by side. Include categories such as “program name,” “institution,” “tuition,” “duration,” “accommodation,” “travel expenses,” “transportation,” “food.” etc. Then choose one of the two options and summarize in a short paragraph (100-120 words) why that is the better option.
