It will be the first time Harris and Trump debate each other. For this discussion assignment, please watch the 2024 presidential debate between Vice President Harris and Former Preside Trump), as well as the after-debate analysis. Don’t limit yourself to watching the analysis on the debate only on one network. Rather, watch both CNN and FOX analysis, as well as any other that you’d like so that you are not introduced to one-sided opinions. Also, read about the debate, before and after it happens, in various sources.
When you have done your preparation, discuss the debate as far as the economics is concerned, looking at “economics” in broad terms. In other words, how do you think the stated comments of each presidential candidate is likely to affect the economy, even if they were not directly taking about the economy. After you are done posing your original comments, make sure to respond to at least two comments from two of your fellow class members. ********************************

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia will again play a significant role in the 2024 election. The first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will be held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on Sept. 10.
The debate is set for 9 p.m. and will be moderated by ABC News anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis, the network announced. It will air on ABC, ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu.
“We are footsteps away from Independence Hall where it all started,” National Constitution Center communications director Moira Bagley Smith said. “The great experiment that is American democracy, and we’re seeing it play out here in our presidential debate. What a great moment for Philadelphia to have both these candidates here on Sept. 10.”
Harris and Trump will face off for the first time since President Biden dropped out of the race and the vice president became the Democratic nominee.
Meanwhile, the first vice presidential debate hosted by CBS News between Democratic Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota and Republican Sen. JD Vance of Ohio will take place Oct. 1 in New York City.
