Students will use mapping techniques gained in-class to investigate change over time to a natural or anthropogenic landscape feature (e.g. expanding city, shrinking island, changing lake levels). Students will use historical satellite images and/or historical maps to investigate these changes and create a basic map using data collected to demonstrate their findings. This map will be submitted with a short research report (no more than 3,000 words ) detailing the methods and findings. The word limit does not include the reference list, but does include in-text citations. Your report is expected to refer frequently to your map showing the data, but can also include other maps and images that further support your findings. Submission instructions: Upload a .pdf version of your report with a copy of your map embedded and captioned in the text appropriately. Also upload a high resolution (min 300dpi) version of your main map as a separate image file (.jpeg, .png, or .tiff). I want the report to be about Hunga Tonga island in the pacific.
