This is a GREEN Assignment: You may use Generative AI (please only use ChatGPT) in some minor ways and ONLY after you have a first publish of the specific assignment with which you need help. Use the tool to get feedback on writing quality (e.g., help to write as a native English speaker, double-check professional tone), clarity of ideas, and clarity of your connections between the topic and the theory. Provide prompts that ask for feedback on a particular area with which you want help. You may not use ChatGPT or any generative AI to generate content that is directly used in an assignment (e.g., write a publish of any part of the paper). The reflection papers, prospectus, detailed outline, letters to the TA, and publishs 1, 2, and 3 are in this category.
If you choose not to use generative AI, write that on the AI disclosure page that will be added to your assignments.
If you choose to use generative AI, follow these parameters:
Do NOT submit articles (in total or in part), outside readings, peers’ work, or any part of the course syllabus, assignment directions, or rubrics; those are the intellectual property of the authors, and they have not given their consent.
Do NOT submit your entire publish; get feedback on a few sentences or a paragraph, and then apply feedback (if appropriate and if consistent with the assignment directions) to the rest of the paper yourself.
DO only use ChatGPT; it saves all of your conversations, so if a question arises about what prompts you used or how much you relied on AI content in your papers, you will have a record to submit. Do not use other generative AI tools in this course. I may ask you to submit your ChatGPT conversations; be prepared to share them upon request.
You may NOT use AI to generate content that is directly used in an assignment (e.g., write a publish of any part of the paper).
DO take responsibility for the content (e.g., written and digital/interactive media assignments and
project). AI can produce content that contains inaccurate information, offensive language/images, and biased or unethical representations. What you submit is your responsibility across these dimensions.
DO provide clear attribution of your sources. Any assignments that utilize Generative AI without attribution pursuant to the guidelines shared in this course can be seen as potential academic dishonesty punishable under University rules. For each assignment for which you used ChatGPT, provide a paragraph that (1) describes the prompts you used, (2) summarizes the feedback received, and (3) provides your reflection about how helpful (or not) the feedback was and how you incorporated (or did not incorporate) the feedback.
