Overview As a graphic design professional, you are expected to build an engaging, unique, and marketable portfolio that is consistent with professional standards. A critical aspect of marketability is personal brand identity. For this project, you will create three deliverables: Professional documentation in the form of a branded digital cover letter and resume A portfolio site that showcases your best work using CampusPress A written reflection explaining the purpose of each piece of work you chose for your portfolio, how you employed best design practices and techniques, and whether you iterated on any designs Your portfolio site will be useful whether you decide to pursue freelancing, contracting, or corporate work in the field of graphic design. The portfolio should reflect your personal brand and showcase your best work. Components of your personal brand identity package will be applied to your portfolio site, cover letter, and resume. You should demonstrate ethical principles and social responsibility in your designs and provide a diverse collection of design work produced in various applications. You have been working on various parts of these deliverables throughout this course. You will now complete these deliverables and make any further updates or revisions needed to finalize them. As you finalize the different components, remember to implement any feedback you may have received from your instructor through assignment feedback or your peers through peer review discussions. For example, you may want to implement all intended revisions and feedback in the design artifacts you have chosen for your portfolio page before uploading them to the portfolio site. Directions Note: Include a link to your CampusPress portfolio site in your personal reflection. Part One: Personal Branding Preparation Revise your logo concept for your personal branding package that employs the elements and principles of design. Design additional components of your personal branding package employing the elements and principles of design. Include the following Colors Typography Develop a mission statement that describes your personal brand. Part Two: Professional Documentation Create a professional resume. Develop a professional cover letter. Apply the personal branding components you created in steps 1 through 3 to your professional resume and cover letter and save both as separate PDF files for submission. Part Three: Portfolio Site Prepare the required pages for your portfolio site. Include the following: Homepage: Include your personal brand mission statement. About Me Include a link to your digital resume. You may also include a professional photo if you have one. Portfolio This page is where you will house the 10 exemplary design artifacts. Contact Information You may also include social media and professional networking links, such as LinkedIn. Apply the personal branding components you previously created to your portfolio site. Choose at least 10 diverse existing design artifacts to include on your portfolio page. Selected design artifacts can be from previous coursework or professional work. These exemplary design artifacts must demonstrate a diverse range of your work. They must also represent your skills and abilities as a designer. Selected design artifacts should demonstrate sensitivity to diversity and inclusion, if applicable. Part Four: Professional Reflection Explain the purpose of, and how you employed design best practices and techniques for, each of your 10 selected designs. Your responses should be no more than 1 to 2 paragraphs per design. Include a link to your portfolio site. Articulate how you improved your designs through iteration to meet professional expectations, if applicable.
