You have been hired as a consultant for Patagonia by their strategic management team. This strategic management team wants to incorporate CSR/Sustainability into their short and long term strategic plans. There may be additional or more specific goals depending on the firm. They are looking for your help in this transformation.
The rubric for this part is as follows:
1. Describe the context, and major trends in the industry.
2. Describe why the firm needs to shift towards corporate social responsibility (this is defined as the impetus for the firm to pursue CSR).
3. Include a competitive analysis: what are the firm’s 2 key competitors doing?
The links I provided are tools to reference to.
In the “top 10 consumer trends 2023”, slide 23 states that “34% of consumers were willing to buy secondhand or previously owned items in 2022.” I think connecting this with Patagonia’s Worn Wear initiative would be a cool idea.
Last, I requested 3 sources. One for each part or divide the three among the last two parts and leave the first without one. If the links I provided count as a reference then just use one and two from an outside source.
